November Night Sky Ablaze!

November is usually very gray and dreary but not so on November 11th. Many areas in the US and around the world were graced with a wonderful display of the Aurora Borealis! I was able to get fairly decent photos in my back yard right in town, and we have a lot of light pollution in the area. I was able to see the northern lights with my eyes! Of course, the camera in my iPhone captured the colors even more brightly. These pictures are right out of the camera. You can go to my Flickr photostream to see more of the photos. It was such a treat to see them. It is very exciting, and I did not mind braving the wind and cold (windchill was in the low 20s). We were supposed to see them again on the 12th; but Boscawen had too many clouds. I am just happy that I was able to see them on the 11th.
