Ahhhh – Vacation!

I returned yesterday from a 2 week vacation at Newfound Lake with my mom and Aunt Mary Jane. I have not had a 2 week vacation in years. It was so relaxing. Newfound Lake has always been special in our family. My mother went when she was young, and we spent many weekends at Wellington State Park growing up as well. For a few summers, my folks rented a camp for a week at the lake. Such memories and so much fun.

Last year, my mom and dad sold their camper. Camping was getting to be too much work. My mom asked if I would rent a cabin for one week if they did. I said sure. In January, we made our reservations for 2 weeks. Unfortunately, my dad died on March 3, but we decided to keep the reservations and invite my Aunt Mary Jane to come along with us too since Uncle Bob passed two weeks before my dad. It was a great get away for us all and the weather was great! It was quite steamy inland – but the lake was refreshing and was a bit cooler than in town. Toby the dog enjoyed the vacation as well. He was a good boy.

We are hoping to reserve the same cabin again next year for two weeks.
